Jimmy Sullivan (Always A Star)

Fifty thousand seated fans, sitting by to watch you play,
Watching, waiting eagerly to see you walk on stage.

You run out with the others, holding drumsticks high.
Screams and smiles everywhere. Some fans even cried.

You took your place behind the drums and started up the beat.
You had the crowd so captured. Not a soul left in there seat.

Flashing lights were nothing, you outshone them like a star.
Now when I tend to think of you, I think the stars are where you are.

Twinkling high above, shining just as you always have.
And since you're still so near to us, what's the reason to be sad?

Though I should take my own advice, I cant. For I miss you far too much.
You'll never be replaced, dearest Jimmy. You're still so very loved.
