A Different Kind of War
Opening the window
In the middle of the night
To see the birds swooping
Marvelous in their flight
Beady eyes shining
In the light of a song
Flying through the air
Echoing all year long
Flowers spring up
Scattering down below
Bright petals unfurl
Blood red in their glow
Small ants scurrying
Running to and fro
Trying to fight their
Much, much larger foe
Then the sun comes up,
The night is now through
Birds fly to their nest
And we start the day new
In the middle of the night
To see the birds swooping
Marvelous in their flight
Beady eyes shining
In the light of a song
Flying through the air
Echoing all year long
Flowers spring up
Scattering down below
Bright petals unfurl
Blood red in their glow
Small ants scurrying
Running to and fro
Trying to fight their
Much, much larger foe
Then the sun comes up,
The night is now through
Birds fly to their nest
And we start the day new
