Slipping From My Sanity

A constant battle raging on,
Day and night I plunge into a losing war,
My soul is ripped apart, between dark or light,
Collapsing on the inside, smiling on the outside,

Slipping from my sanity,
A shadow of humanity.

You are my worst enemy,
The one I can’t control,
Consuming all the good things,
That used to make me whole,

Slipping from my sanity.
Gone is my morality.

I didn’t foresee the darkness ahead,
Lost and alone I plummet into the dark,
Pleas to be spared go unheard,
Furious violence, uncontrolled and wild,
Falls on deaf ears,

Slipping from my sanity.
All that's left is vanity.

So unsure of what is right,
Continuous prayers go unanswered,
Only one can survive in my battle field,
If I don’t die now, this mental battle can never end,

Slipping from my sanity,
A shadow of humanity.
