Nature's Reflection

Look past my reflection
And the world of apathy;
Gaze into the beauty
That society cannot destroy.

The startling sunset,
Red and purple hues
Make champagne in the sky:
So sweet, so intoxicating.

The sway of the trees
Under the push of a gentle breeze;
A dance of nature so magnificent,
Yet never quite noticed.

The songs of birds,
Crying out for their lovers;
Has no one realized theirs
Is the original love song?

The faint scent of a flower,
So light and modest,
Never demanding attention,
Still a remedy of every ache.

The water’s soothing touch,
Filling every gap it finds,
Loving despite thorns and scratches;
Forever satisfying others.

Nature’s wonders,
The blessings we’re oblivious to;
A selfless beauty forgotten
In the face of our own reflections.
