Dying from the Inside

I wish I could explain this
Explain just how I feel
But it isn't true emotion
The emotions just aren't real
Look around in silence
Hide behind blank eyes
Take in what's around you
Lose your will to fight
Becoming so submissive
Bowing down to all
Bending to their will
Dropped so that you fall
No one understands you
And they leave you in the dark
And harsh uncaring faces
Truly leave their mark
Maybe not physically
But deep inside your mind
Deeper, deeper, deeper
No telling what you'll find
Scars of grand proportions
Blood that runs in streams
Tears among the fabric
Pain is all you see
I could tell you it's unbearable
But you wouldn't really know
Even if you witnessed it
There's only so deep you can go
There's always something buried
Hidden from those that pry
You'll never understand it
Even if you try
Bow down as I may
Satisfaction's never there
Yet those who stand victorious
Of course - they just don't care
I'll lay here purely silent
Dying from the core
Smiling to your faces
Until I'm just no more
