"Wonderful" Fort

I love my school don’t get me wrong,
I think they’re doing something wrong.
I’m just counted as a number,
Since I don’t wear an athletic number.

Here’s a word of advice,
From a student’s eyes.
Maybe you could right the wrong,
And make the student body strong.

Treat everyone the same,
And not just those who play the game.
We can’t all be singers,
We can’t all be actors.

Treat us like we’re similar,
And not just those whose names are familiar.
We aren’t all going to the same place,
When we leave this campus, this place.

We come from different states,
But we eat off the same plates.
We come from different areas,
We excel in different areas.

You squash our creativity,
You crush our individuality.
You hold back who we really want to be,
And push us to be who you want us to be.

This place is supposed to help you grow,
To expound in measures upon what you know.
That’s where we fall short.
That’s the downfall of this “wonderful” fort.
