Scarlet Keys
His fingers danced across the beautiful ivory keys,
Constructing a melancholic tune upon my ears;
His funeral song.
Bony fingers continued to press against the keys,
Engraving every note in my being
Every tone was dark, heavy, and forlorn.
Were you ever happy?
I was happy once. Once when I was with you.
The music stops.
“I loved you.” was uttered.
Tears spilled, as I pulled your head back from behind,
The cold blade resting dangerously on your neck.
Leaning down, a soft kiss was placed upon your lips.
The ivory keys were splattered, stained scarlet.
The gloomy lullaby stops.
Constructing a melancholic tune upon my ears;
