Life is a Battlefield

Why is life so hard?
So confusing and troubled
It’s like the joker’s card
Make that a double

Parents just don’t understand
What it’s like to be teenager nowadays
We’re just bits of sand
“But we love you” they say

Someday, we’ll runaway
See how that makes them feel
See if it makes them realize
That ‘happily ever after‘s are not real

Or maybe they might not care
Not even give a sh*t
If we ever dare
Chances aren’t a hit

So why, may you ask,
Are we still living?
It’s not like some task
Nor a game we’re killing

Why don’t we just do it?
Just get it over with
Let them talk sh*t
They are all just myths

But life is a battlefield
And we have to accept that
Use what we have as a shield
Until the war over life has sat
