The Planet's Nursery Ryhme

The Planet’s Nursery Rhyme
by Nerianne D. Congjuico

Well what do you know, it’s our good friend
The great Humpty Dumpty, nursery’s trend
He broke his head when he climbed the wall
And probably died since that great fall

But what is in him that is present today?
The answer is nearby, it is in display;
Can’t you see it? It’s already in decay
Look at Mother Earth, what else can one say?

Toxic waters and the polluted air
Abundant forests, you see them bare
All these dangerous asymmetrical typhoons
Accompanied by unpredictable monsoons

But what can we do, the die has been cast
There is no turning back, fate is too vast
If everything ends, the cycle will vanish
Upon a shooting star, we make one wish

If everything is to end, and we shall disappear
We want to remain, with those we hold dear
If everyone is to live, and we shall all survive
We want our homeland, the land we’ll revive

The world’s dying end, all of which can access
I know, we have the right to bear witness
All of her splendor and all of her beauty
She may be the next Humpty Dumpty
