Black Avalanche

The avalanche of black
Slid down the perfect slope.
I couldn't outrun it.
I had been off my guard.

It seemed my life would come to an end
Yet thirty minutes passed
And I was still breathing
Shivering and alone....

I could not take in any air.
I could not feel my body.
I could see death take me away
But I was still alive....

I live my life as though I'm dead
No longer do I need this air
No longer do I need your love
I am the living dead.
