Home Base Safe

He steps right on the green grassy field.
His eyes never peel,
from the plate.
He knows this swing must be great
The pitcher wounds up 1, 2, and 3!
The ball and the bat must agree. He hears the slam as the bat meets the ball.
It goes up in the air, and then it starts to fall.
He starts to run, going faster and faster.
He only thinks of what happens after.
Fist base, second base, third base.
He runs faster as If it was a race.
He slides, makes it flat on home base.
He makes it. He is finally safe at home base.
