The Meaning of a Double Meaning

They desert me in this desert,
No bandage wound around my wound.
A tear within my memories,
I dare to shed a tear.

Face the face of a mystery,
And you will fare well when it's fair.
I have left the path to the left,
For the right way is the right way.

A large number of unpleasantries,
And I have grown even number.
But look at the looks of me,
Paging through pages that never were.

Count the digits of a life time,
With the digits found amoung your palm,
As we watch the sun set for a son,
In the shade of a gentle blowing palm.

The color of our feelings mistaken,
When the young miss was taken.
You miss a chance of happiness,
But now there is no chance to press.

I lie upon the misty field,
Lying as I lie to you.
I slowly stake my territory,
While you burn at the stake in all your glory.

Alone I travel on my own,
Leaving behind all that I own.
Danger comes when it has won,
But my loss might be the only one.

Awaking to the fresh winter morning,
Beginning again with my fresh mourning.
I pour out my sorrow for the poor,
Until I am less for joining the powerless.

I am much too close to death for this,
So close the door of your fruitless wish.
You will always be the one who lives,
Because I suffer for both of our lives.

I will try my best to endure,
Whether it be your will or not.
We know what was and is and were,
All except what will be fought.

You are cold, ruthless, and mean.
I think that you know what I mean.
But how can life be just as it seems?
I'm being ripped apart at the seams.

Pointless a row for a pointless arrow,
Wondering through these heartless hills,
Wondering why I had to wake,
Why I followed after your wake.

Waves crash upon the sandy beach.
The wind waves a gentle goodbye,
Remembering all that we have come by.
Soaking me through to the bone like dye,
Will this be the time I die?

I lost my senses when I was lost,
A touch of frosting to lighten the frost.
Waiting for winter to turn to fall,
Why doesn't it go backwards when I fall?

I'd offer all my change for a change,
A way to simply go away.
But after all, the meaning is gone.
I see the long sea has been here too long.

Inside the bed of a riverbed,
The floorboards creak over the creek.
Run along as the water runs,
Don't let your head get too far ahead.
