Love Hurts
It happened on an ordinary day
as these things usually do,
minding my own buisness
just on my way to school
Then everything changes,
the whole world spins,
and I'm cutting across traffic;
trapped like a butterfly beneath pins
Tires squeal, metal crunches
All I hear is screams
Close my eyes on this december day,
and open to a place of dreams
I feel the pain,
glass cuts down me like rain
My breath catches, my eyes squeeze shut
Think of anything, anything but the pain
I try to hold on, remember their faces,
but I know it's no use
It's all too much
and I'm losing touch
Never again will I go to these places
Never remember those times
Never see those faces
Never again listen as bell chimes
I'm passing through
I'm going home now
and as everything fades
it's finally over
I'm gone.
