The Four Horsemen

As time blew past
We looked up to the sky
As it churned dark clouds
And blocked out the light

They came on their horses
All four of them
To end all mortal being
War, Plague, Death and Famine

As War reared up
On his horse colored red
His foot caught hold
On the loose cloak of Death's

"Now look what you've done!"
He shouted in anger
"My horse has ran off!
How am I supposed to bring gore and macabre?!"

Death said nothing
Just ignored the angry soldier
And adjusted his hourglass
With his bony fingers

"Oh stop complaining!
You have a sword do you not?"
Said Plague quite exasperated
As he conjured forth a pox

War just grumbled
And got off the ground
Took his sword out of sheath
And as he swung round

Cut off the head
Of Plague's white horse
As it tumbled to the ground
War laughed with no remorse

Plague just gaped
At the severed head
Then whirled around
To confront War instead

"Why'd you do that for?
You arrogant fool!
How am I supposed to ride
This decapitated mule?!"

"Can we stop this nonsense
You two are inflicting?"
Asked Famine as he rolled his eyes
At the bickering siblings

"Shut up Famine!
And go kill some corn!"
Plague and War shouted
In obvious scorn

"I'd love to do so
But as you see
Death's already at work
On his killing spree"

At Famine's words
Plague and War stopped to look
And they saw Death raise
His reaping hook

"Damn you Death!
There aren't four of us for nothing!"
War angrily stated
Wanting part of the action

Plague shook his head
And descended from the corpse
Of his once lovely
Beautiful white horse

"Oh Marisol!" He said sadly
As he kneeled on the ground
"What am I supposed to ride
Without you around?"

Famine had already wandered off
To across the nation
To destroy all the food
And cause starvation

While War stormed around
And looked on for
His not-so-loyal steed
As he brought on the gore

Death was sweeping
Around the big city
Swinging his scythe
He looked rather busy

So Plague he stood up
Layed the head at his feet
And began a storm
Of sickness and disease

And so in no time
The apocalypse came
The horsemen finished their work
As the world went up in flames
