Who Are We ?

Words spoken aloud but are meaningless
A house so big filled with emptiness
A girl so beautiful with features of bitterness
A child’s eyes so deep, no longer filled with innocence
A dreamers dream with nothing but darkness
A mother’s heart carries only sadness
A best friend offers nothing but coldness

This silence is so loud

Lives lost
Blood shed

Wars
Where victims are faceless
Men are heartless
Shameless
Faithless
We target only each other
My gun is my only brother

We have become humans with no humanity
So much vanity
Hold on tight to your sanity

No compassion
Look straight into a loved one’s eyes with no recognition
Love has no definition
So turn the ignition
And move on to spread the destruction
It’s the only way we know how to function

We come we see we conquer

The line between man and animal is not only blurred but erased
Forgetting the reasons on which our lives were based

Always set on defense
Even when life no longer makes sense

Stop where you stand and look all around
Listens to that sound
Bend, and let your fingers touch the ground

Raise your face to the skies
Take a breath and close your eyes
Feel the earth as it dies
As it cries
You say you were no man the wise
Don’t unleash the lies

Cradle what is left do to your greed
You planted that seed
All this chaos you’ve come to lead

Was it pride, arrogance, uncaring, or hate?
That has brought us to this terrible fate
Are we already too late?
Or have we a few seconds to spare?
Can we live amongst each other and share?
Or has there been too much destruction to bare?

So, shall we pick up what’s left and start again, do we dare?
