confrontation

i love this boy
but i know he holds a deadly secret
i know he lies to me and i say he is
but he denys it

I confronted him
I asked him what was wrong
I said that he could confide in me
he walked away

he came back and said he was sorry
he said i want to confide in you
so he did
his secret was terrible

Too horrifying to mention
but there was one scar,
one mark that i bear from that day
in the shape of two cresent moons
on my neck

Friends asked what it was
I Lied and said an animal
He still went out with me
acted normal

but to this day
i remember what he really is
he says it shows in my eyes
but i feel no fear

He is still around
he pops up now and again
and when he does i confront him
Each time i get older
he stays the same

we separated for a while
I see his beatiful lies
the smile that haunts my dreams
but i will not cave in

i decide to stand up to him
so when he comes i am prepared
i have a stake
and i take of his ring

The sun rises and he looks at me
one last fleeting look of pain
before duty takes control
and I plunge the stake
into his chest

Sometimes, some places
his image still haunts me
his glowing smile is gone
but i know it remains
underground
