Midnight Peace

The howls of the coyotes echo through my head
They send chills down my spine as I breathe,
In and out as a slight fog releases from my lips
A chill blows past me,
Causing my hair to dance and my body to tremble
Not with fright though,
I know I am okay in this vast landscape

My footsteps follow me as I walk through the snowy field,
The snowflakes landing on the arms of my jacket
A smile creeps to my mouth,
I feel the cold air hit my lips like ice

Goosebumps appear on the back of my neck,
I gaze up at the midnight sky
The trees are a subtle brown and green against the blue tones of the atmosphere
They are merely a small section on the great painting of life
I feel small here but safe,
This is my home,
For this is a Canadian winter

Just something I had to write for English class. I don't know how this turned out, feedback is appreciated.
