The Hell That is School

Predictable in their willful ignorance of creativity,
Which rejoices in a tyrant's logic.
Susceptible to false naivety,
No matter how superficial the topic.

Cunning minds twist wily lies,
Destroying the remaining truth within.
Dark threats and ill-wished feuds,
Pay no heed to wronged innocence.

A system, which delves so deep,
That none can prove immune.
Imprinted in our minds to point,
Where tiny details – though flawed may be – that show each of our uniqueness,
Is corrupted or fades away.

The road to Hell is paved,
With good intentions as they say.
Yet do not mention an earthly Hell,
Which still darkens the hearts of many.

No sight of the dreaded sign “Beware”,
Is posted on the elaborate gates.
So heed this single warning,
Before you enter here,
This somber end of childhood.
