Fallen Trees.

Like the rain outside, this moisture falls onto my cheeks without signs of ceasing.
The winds rip at the trees like your words did my mind.
The trees they quiver and snap, fall to the ground.
Your words, they stain my memory as I fall to my knees.
I repeat the unanswered question over and over .
“Oh god, why me?”
The rain, it stops, but the water is still there, flooding the streets.
My tears, they dry, but I will always feel them there, making me weak.
The wind, it dies, but the trees remain fallen.
Your words are silenced but I remain broken.
The cycle repeats, never to cease.
The forest can only take so much until it is bare.
I can only take so much until I’m gone beyond repair.
The rain comes again, and the trees shake in the wind.
Another one falls down.
The tears touch my skin, your words back again.
Another life ends.
