The Struggle Inside You (Rewritten)

It's a secret, but it's her's.
It isn't mine to share
But I need to let her know,
That no matter, what I'm there.

Sometimes I think I'm the only one
Who sees through every lie.
The ones she tells about their fighting
To make us think she's fine.

I know she's torn in half,
Wanting to let them know
That their fighting hurts,
And that it just needs to go.

But at the same time she doesn't,
She feels the need to play strong!
Because weakness doesn't feel right
It always just feels wrong.

Her friends aren't much better
At seeing through her mask,
It's true that they care...
They're just not up for the task.

One day I might just yell
To everyone that knows her,
"How can you expect the truth
When her heart's so unsure!"

Or maybe I'll tell her "Go,
Hide behind pretenses so untrue
Since in the end, this all comes down
To the struggle inside you."

This is a rewrite of my poem "The Struggle Inside You."

It's still up in my poems if you wish to read it.
