I was born to do great things. (Mind you)

I was born for so much more.
I was born to dance across the sky, stars in hand.
I was born to breathe clean air and walk barefoot.

I was born to party.
I was born to rock the boat.
I was born to be spontaneous and unpredictable.

I was made to do great things,
to hate everyone and escape this town.

I was made to tour the country with a band,
to ride the Eurotrain on a wim,
to fall in love, to break a heart.

I've told you that I was born for greatness,
I'm stuck in a rut, a hole, struggling to burst out
and leave this deadbeat town behind.
One day I will be fed up with the low lifes living here,
and as quickly as I appeared I'll be gone.

So wave me goodbye,
as I leave on that midnight train for my destiny.
It's nothing you did,
or said,
I'm simply too big for this humble town.

I was born to do great things,
and I can't let you hold me back anymore.
