Blindness

A suicide note written in vain,
A rifle aimed for vanity,
A tear shed for blindness,
A man in chains of contradiction,

If what you see is what you get,
Then all he saw was darkness,
His rifled aimed at an evil man,

His family watching,
Not knowing what to do,

Was his blood on there hands?
Is it on your hands, too?
Mine? God's? Everyone's?

His rifle pointed at the evil he saw,
The trigger pulled by darkness,
When all you see is darkness,
Is this what you become?

When all you see is darkness,
Are you dark, too?
Is there light somewhere in there,
Trapped inside of you?

When all you see is darkness,
When all you see is pain,
When you're drowning in your tears,

Is it possible to swim,
To gain hope again,
To look inside yourself and see,
The compassion inside you and me?

Why didn't he survive,
The man who lead an evil life,
His rifle pointed at his chest,

An evil was inside of him,
And he knew it was there,
Trapped in a nightmare!

Point and shoot,
Pull the trigger,
End a life,
Murder most evil,
Life most glorious.

Is this all that is left,
In an empty man,
A trigger to pull,
A rifle to shoot,
A tear to shed,
A note to write?

Blood is on his hands,
But who is responsible?
Is it me, Is it you?
Could we have saved him if we knew,
Of his pain and tears to shed,
The rifle aimed as his heart bled?
