Silent War

We're fighting a silent war
It has yet to be won
For as soon as I surrender
You hold up your gun
And I've run out of ammunition
But I'm still holding on
For it is my promised mission
But I am getting tired
Of watching my own back
As the shots are fired
But I have no first aid
So I sit and I listen
Praying for the sadness to fade
And you're clearly winning by far
So I will let you go
And walk away with battle scars
We fought the silent war
And I kept getting shot
So I put up the flag surrendering
To the war that I lost...
