White flag

Here is my white flag here is my honor
With it take my heart and some of the pride
Since with them I'm trapped in a strange ugly horror
You don't see my shame but I take yours in stride

This is how I want to be cowardly and masked
While your heart lies open and warm in my hands
I may not be sane but that was not asked
Though my heart is hidden, in the light your heart stands

How we bare our hears is our choice to decide
Yours is warm with its imperfect beauty
While mine is yours, quite masked it resides
Just ask and you'll see mine but only by duty

Until you delve into my sick bleeding mind
Just know that you have my heart and my light
When you try to unmask me I hope that you find
That the warmth you've inspired is quite worth the fight.
