The Gathered

Once upon a midnight dreary, pedels bend and glistened clearly.
Strays of light danced and poured hoping to open the mystical door.
Bending bouncing to the ground, sending sparkles all around.
Creating an aura they all come by the dozens, more and more.
One by one they followed, gathering as if waiting for a tour.
Silently blinking and nothing more.

Silence around the huddled crowd, speaking its own special sound.
Watching as time flies, only silently blinking and nothing more.
Curious eyes staring, wondering carefully, thinking and pondering.
“Hello.” One said, “Have you ever been here before?”
Others joined in speaking out, others not just blinking and nothing more
Whispering “Forever more.”

Was this the time and place, for all to meet face to face?
These are the thoughts of all that can’t be put on ignore.
Together they rejoice, as the snapping and the laughing swallowed them whole.
The fire created flickered and cracked on the newly dried moon lit floor.
The moon smiled down at them, bringing its faithful allure.
Breathing out “Forever more.”

The end was near, as all had feared.
Wishing for happy goodbyes, hating teary eyes one yelled in an almost roar.
“This is it friends.” He said standing tall in the circle of light.
“We gather to bathe in her sight, coming from near and far.” He turned and pretended to soar.
“Together we will protect her.” And they all nodded millions upon millions.
Chanting “Forever more.”

This poem is a parody of "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe.
I really like it, I feel it has this mystical sense to it.
Hope you like it.
