Waiting for the Sun to Rise

The world will waste away
and we'll all turn to dust
which will turn the cities to rust
the plants will wither and die
and the stars will fall from the sky
the deserts will be blanketed in snow
and every tick of the clock
just echos with slow
the moon will flicker
and loose its shine
all waiting for the sun to rise

The clouds will create a deadly haze
and rain will pour for days and days
washing away the streets and signs
wiping out the times
making the grueling wait
just unbearable
waiting for the sun to rise is terrible

The blinding rays snake over the horizon at last
and the earth bursts into flames
burning it to its sooty shame
setting skin ablaze
and boiling the blood beneath
unaccustomed to the searing heat
all when the sun decides to rise

The time moves much to slowly for me at times, and it feels as if I'm going to have to watch the world tumble to the ground, and be rebuilt, then tear it down piece be piece myself before I'll ever see the sun again.
