Sear Through Me

Another moment apart,
Another poem, a piece of art.
I won’t come back angry,
I won’t begin to cry.
I won’t let you see me this way,
Even if I have to wait for another day.
I want the pain to sear through me,
But I won’t cause of how you treat me.
You’re never mad,
You’re never sad.
I’ll take a deep breath,
Try to calm myself.
I need to let myself calm down,
Yet I can’t walk around town.
My modes of comfort are fading,
You won’t see me smiling.
Sorry to put you through this,
I don’t want you to see this.
