Life As Usual

Broken down and stamped with lies,
Why waste time breathing; everyone dies,
Walk down the street and see it all,
Oh, how they say the mighty fall,
Broken hearts and shattered dreams,
Stolen by those coorperate fiends.

Skip past the girl who's another count,
In societies magazine statistic doubt,
In teen mothers and todays youth,
Isn't she the girl from the kissing booth?
No, that's right, people make mistakes,
But we're not people-- teenagers don't get retakes,
See the tears in her eyes,
And hear her babies muffled cries.

Jog past the boy who's far from home,
Who's true talents have turned to scorn,
I have to wonder what he was thinking,
And wonder if he saw his life line shrinking,
When the doctors told him he had AIDS,
And all he had to do now was count the days,
No longer the star at school,
I wonder who he now calls the fool.

Run past the girl who's almost gone,
I don't think she'll last 'till dawn,
Her parents fought all her life,
Home was filled with tense moments and strife,
Everything led her to cut,
I don't think she cared much,
Look at the booze dribble down her cheek,
Her past made her strong, her pain made her weak.

Walk past the boy who's pills are his life,
And sharpen the needles with a knife,
Inject so much that you can see his pulse,
The running red blood made false,
Pop the pills to keep his mask,
The city's god's hallowed task,
Slowly driving himself insane,
Close my eyes; I can almost feel his pain.

Broken down and stamped with lies,
Why waste time breathing; everyone dies,
Walk down the street and see it all,
Oh, how they say the mighty fall,
Broken hearts and shattered dreams,
Stolen by those coorperate fiends,
Watch the lives slowly fade,
Watch the others laugh, they've got it made,
Just forget that your life's a lie,
Fathers look down and mothers cry,
But that's life as usual, ain't it?
When you live your life on party strip?

Good luck.
