A Photograph of Friends

Love stares through still eyes upon a withered photograph:
three sets of different eyes, all beholding the same expression.
Their compassion for friendship has the strong hold of sisterhood
which the years and physical separation cannot unbind.

The photograph, taken over the summer, is only a small symbol
of the endurance and brilliance of the loving threesome:
arms wrapped around each other holding them close to the heart and
symmetrical smiles representing the smirks, the laughs, and each silly memory.

As life is, and as it goes, the friends are separated, they have their own lives,
but they call one another and plan their special randezvous,
for when they can meet up and become inseparable once again.

And when they cannot meet up and be the inseparable three,
each will turn from time to time, to stare upon a picture
where love stares back through still eyes upon that withered photograph.
