Only Human

The air pulses,
My heart speeds,
My breathing hitches,
And even my skin gets goosebumps as I gaze at you.
How alien and strange you seem,
Yet powerful and beautiful.
Strange and beautiful,
What a lovely combination.
Time seems to stop as our eyes meet,
Just to give us this moment,
All to ourselves.
I watch with strict fascination as you walk, talk, and move,
Seeing that you are not as human as I thought you were.
How breakable I am to you,
How powerful you are to me,
But we both have to keep reminding ourselves that I'm only human.
Yearning for your touch,
Even just a brush of fingertips, makes my skin itch.
Don't worry, I say to you, I'll keep you safe.
What I mean to say, was that I'll keep you to myself.
Yes, thats it.
You're mine,
All mine.
