Sonnet of the Horizon

Just yesterday, I turned the other way
A soft horizon breaking in the light
It hung itself against that silver slate
Like dangling chiffon lace, and veiled this life.

And powdered over wispy silk of mares
And splashing over streaks of tangerine
Was coral froth-light orange, barely there.

But paradise was not my destiny,
I had to veer-continue towards the grey
These solemn, sagging clouds tugged at my sleeve.

And now again, I doubt the return of day
But all I'll see and all I'll ever know
Complacent once-sedated by the glow.
