Misery's Smothering Rope

A sea of despair
Washing over like a flood
Rushing through my veins like blood
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Misery's not just a game
It can't be played
And it never wants to fade
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Hiding in the shadows
A rope wound 'round my neck
A painful emotional wreck
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Pushing me over the edge
A wave of emotion
You're oblivious to the commotion
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

A hidden scar
Playing games with my mind
Making me so blind
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Slowly, I'm dissolving
Slowly, I'm disaappearing
It's something I should be fearing
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Losing all care
Lost all hope
A further tightening rope
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"

Five final words to say in the end
I draw in my last breath
As I'm nearing my death
And it's smothering me
"Can't you see my misery?"
