Virtue

Put away your worldly worries,
Your fiscal wishes, your scholarly obligations.
Do away with your so-thought needs,
Your self-centered ambitions,
Your taut opinion of a perfect universe.
And think about the ones
Outside your single-mindedness.
Become intolerant of wrongdoing.
Fight against the norms of society,
Infuse it with peace, love, and spirituality.
Visualize new help and hope,
Couch these visions in compassion and joy.
Think benign thoughts, then speak and act accordingly.
Surround your soul and surface with wholesomeness.
Such is the virtuous human.
