The Taking of Energy

Long days,
Many ways,
The world takes my desire.

Balanced on the edge of wake,
My soul has yet to be afraid.
The coming future knows the truth,
If I shall turn to fire.

Or if my path will turn to ice,
Glassy eyes my only vice.
Will my stength be whisked away?
Never to inspire.

But what if this is permanent?
My mind and body nearly spent.
The taking of my energy,
By my earthly sire.
