DO you love her?

Do you love her?
Do you love her more than your mother?
Your father?
Your brother? Sister?
And do you really love your mother, father, sister or brother?
Or do you just pretend? Because they're family and it's the law?
And is it really the law? To love family?
So do you? Do you love her?

Do you love her?
Do you love her more than the cat you had in grade three,
the one who died falling out of the tree, I mean?
And is that really the way it died? Or did you forget to feed it?
Forget to let it in when it got dark? Did you cry?
I think you did, did some part of you cheer,
because you didn't have to do the litter anymore?
So do you? Do you love her?

Do you love her?
Do you love her more than God? Is that even allowed?
Are you allowed to love anybody more than God?
But aren't you supposed to love her more than anything in the world?
Maybe god isn't part of the world? Maybe hes in the stars floating above the clouds?
Maybe hes the man on the moon, or the meteor shooting by?
Do you go to church to worship the man in the sky?
Or to save your self from eternal burning,
to save your self from the hungover mornings, and lustful looks
at the women wearing next to nothing at the coffee stand?
Would you burn for an eternity just for her? For her to spend her forever in heaven?
So do you? Do you love her?

Do you love her?
Do you love her more than anything? Or did you used to?
But was that ten years ago, and now your neutral and nothings the same?
Would you cry? Cry if she died?
Cried for every fallen dime from pockets, wallets or tripping hand?
How many dollars is that? How many dollars would you have from all the dimes to ever fall?
Tens? Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? Billions? A billion tears?
Would you cry a billion tears for her?
So do you, Do you love her?
