Drunk Enough to Party
He was quite a sight
A shadow, under the lime light
Covered in smoke
Smelling of dope
And disappearing
Into I don’t care
His smile, his eyes
Something to much
Like fire, burning me
Empty and dull
Ringed around in black
Still a child
Wants to be a man
Too bad,
I swear I won’t grow up
I didn’t stop
Didn’t stare
You’re not supposed to
Let them think you care
I just smiled and passed by
A whisper, a secret
Just loud enough for everyone to hear
Slouched and trying hard to not remember
The day when you were born
Is hard enough already
Much less with her staring you down
A shadow, under the lime light
Covered in smoke
Smelling of dope
And disappearing
Into I don’t care
His smile, his eyes
Something to much
Like fire, burning me
Empty and dull
Ringed around in black
Still a child
Wants to be a man
Too bad,
I swear I won’t grow up
I didn’t stop
Didn’t stare
You’re not supposed to
Let them think you care
I just smiled and passed by
A whisper, a secret
Just loud enough for everyone to hear
Slouched and trying hard to not remember
The day when you were born
Is hard enough already
Much less with her staring you down
