Wait out the storm

Rain falls on the streets,
Hear it hit the window,
Watch it fall on the roof.

See the lighting light up the sky,
Count the seconds between each one,
Brace for the thunder that comes after.

Hear the thunder boom over the houses,
It laughs at the ones, who are afraid of it,
And runs from the ones, who aren’t.

Wait out the storm,
Watch the clouds part,
Smile at the sun shining brightly.
