Love Destroys Your Heart, Especially Unrequited Love

What is to be done of this heart
That cannot be mended
That cannot be used
That will remain as a reminder of my sufferings
Of my deep plight
Cursed is this damned love,
So enchanting in its way
And yet so unfulfilling in its true form
Why am I, tired and weary
Condemned with eternal pain,
Consumed with burning flames that destroys your resistance
Breaks down your barriers
Bittersweet poison this is...
Hopeless is my case,
Seeing as I am trapped in a cage of my own making
Locked by my own love,
A love so impossible,
So unthinkable
Because it is unrequited.
Unrequited love, so painful
So hurtful in its own way
So poisonous
With unfanciful truth,
It leaves disaster in its wake
Leaving behind a trail of broken dreams, forgotten hopes, and lost hearts.
Seeking nothing but a fantasy
That leaves you choked up, for it is impossible.
