Not To Imagine

You’ve roamed through the hallways,
Walked on the floors,
Listened to the deafening silence…
But the doors remained closed.

You talk like those doors were made of glass,
Like you’re in a whole higher class.
You talk like those doors were opened,
But never have they been more closed.

Have you seen it inside?
It’s a damn big mess.
It wasn’t made to impress,
But you talk like it’s immaculate.

The door is shut,
It’s made of steel,
Defended by pricks,
Touch and you’ll be beaten with bricks.

You haven’t treaded through the tall grass,
Jumped over the towering walls,
Flied through the dark clouds,
Not even a damn step.

It’s pathetic.
What do you know?
What do you know about what’s inside?
Who do you know who silently died?

You open that door,
And disappointed you will be.
Because it isn’t anything like,
What your imagination built up.

Don’t talk like you know.
Don’t talk like you understood.
Judge me by my hallways,
Judge me by my floors,

And lies will fill that stupid mind of yours.
Because you don’t know.
You don’t care.
Never tried, never will.

And whenever I open up that door,
And scream on the top of my lungs,
To express,
To confess.

You put on those soundproof headphones,
You put on those thick glasses,
And go into a world of oblivion,
Where my screams turn into nothingness.

How much I want to burn them.
And throw them to the wall,
Open your blinded eyes,
Look into the person you seemingly despise.

Because she’s got something to say.
Been repeating it day by day,
And no longer can she delay,
Putting down the pretense she portrays.

This smile doesn’t mean I’m happy.
This frown doesn’t mean I’m sad,
It means I’m able to manipulate you.
It means you didn’t take any time to think things through,

Before labeling me,
Labeling my emotions,
Labeling my thoughts,
You have no right.

I gave you so many chances,
To get to know me,
Because you forgot everything after I was pushed into that door,
And fell to the cold hardwood floor.

So stop with the lies,
The misjudgments,
Cause you don’t know me,
You just know what you want to see.
