It Was Only A Dream

I thought I saw you in the park
You were smiling and laughing
Having fun
You saw me and ran over
Chasing me and collapsing to the ground when we were done
I rolled into your arms
Where you hugged me tight
I did the same
And we watched the falling stars all throughout the night
The night air grew cold
But I only got warmer
I only wished we could grow old
With each other
Minutes passed and hours disappeared
I closed my eyes and begged you not to let go
But when I opened them, it was as I feared
You were gone and I was in my bed
I began to cry, not fair
How could my brain torture me like that?
After all
It was only a dream
