Inertia

I feel age in every blink,
I’ll never be this young again -
And yet inertia settles within me.

Dust on my bones and heart,
I choke, wildly unseat it,
And it unearths something else.

I have found an unknotted love
But I cannot have him.
For he sits out of reach,
Sitting on some branch,
Higher than I can ever be,
Forever in the sun.
