Work of Art

Surrounded by darkness
With cracks in my heart
Silent and still
Like a work of art
Lips curled in a smile
Tears pour from the eyes
Conflicting emotions
Pour out like a tide
The body's distorted
Eyes glow in the shade
Shimmering and piercing
The darkest of jade
Teeth ivory white
Between rose colored lips
Blinding that smile
That has your soul in it's grip
Hair curls down gently
The deepest of blacks
The face is grotesque
No pain does it lack
The eyes show such agony
It crushes your heart
It leaves it with cracks
That's only the start
The smile of joy
Shines out through the tears
Happy that you'll feel
It's pain and it's fears
One hand is mocking
It cares not for your plight
Posed by the face
Flippant and light
It wants you to suffer
The same way as it
Feel the burn and the pain
Of her throat being slit
Red stains the hair
Makes the ends glitter and shine
It pours down the skin
Until it's no longer white
The hand that's not mocking
Is desperate and tight
Gripping the gash
With all of its might
The legs are posed
As if facing a foe
Tense as if angry
Ready to dodge any blow
Gruesome; unsightly
You can't look away
I sit here and smile
No way you won't stay
Then you fall to despair
And the cracks can't be fixed
You take your own pose
Perform your own tricks
Take a place beside me
As a new work of art
As my friend and companion
With your own broken heart
