Apples of Aphrodite

In the mist of morning dew
Laid a thin layer of fog
The gentle chirp of the morning birds
A small river settled nearby
The running water flowed gently down its worn path
On the edge of the riverbank
Sat a young tree and underneath the long branches,
Laid a young woman
A shield of long brown hair hid her face from the sun
She slept ever so lightly
Her mind drifted in and out of time
It was as if she was dreaming
The unrealistic time and dreams
Flowed through out the girl’s mind
Memories spoke together as though no time passed between
The greatest aspect of life
Day by day everything seems the same
But when you turn around and look back
Everything is different
The young woman became of this
And still she laid, her mind passing by herself
Slowly her eyes opened
And in the beginning naïve was never good enough
Yet it was the easiest way to be
For she never saw the inner workings of truth
And in this moment
Reality dropped the girl onto a path of new opposites
She took well
Tears became smiles
The tree blossomed apples
One small, red apple straight from the hands of Aphrodite fell in her lap
A sweet, old, welcomed surprise
Long delayed in a different time
Oh sweet sorrow, never expected
A change greatly needed
Hidden secrets and feelings in depths of deep below
Never to surface until awaken by running waters
Burned in the hands of the girl
The apple disappeared
Hollow be thy heart
Clasped onto one
Never did time seem to move
Sat the girl, by the tree of apples
A long shield of brown hair hid her face from the rain
Rain and rain on days end
A wind of chance and fate the be forbidden
An apple of past, cold and bitten held to the girl by Aphrodite
Rapid movements the girl bite the apple
Overworked the apple turned rotten
Denied by truth and hidden by lonesome
The apple stayed with the girl
As the girl stayed emotionally unfaithful to the apple
As the rain played games
The days turned into thoughts
Playing hide and seek was never easy
The girl stirred, her head shook from side to side
Masked beneath old times and dreams
Forbidden was never right
Forbidden is always wrong
Faith intertwined paths and set the girl straight
Furiously the girl went wild
Digging with her bare hands
Digging and digging within her for days of dreams
A wind of smell and relaxants soothe the girl and her digging stopped
And her heart beat again
And in this moment
Reality dropped the girl onto a path of mature ages
She took well
Tears became smiles
An apple fell into her lap
Beaten and rotten worse than the days of dreams
She didn’t noticed the destined taste of failure marked upon the apple
Ignorance is bliss soon became a motto
Just as before
Memories danced under the darken days of dreams
That was long lost on a river that ran beside the tree of apples
Underneath the tree sat a young woman
A shield of long brown hair hid her disenchanted face from the cloudy days of rain
Patiently the unreal reality times of dreams kept the girl beside the tree
The unexpected fate pushes the girl down and down
Till she is but on her knees
To control the dreams of apples and destined fates is never welcomed
A year past and reality is never reality
The girl closed her eyes and her shield of hair fell in front
When opened in front of her standing was Aphrodite
In her hands laid a perfectly, red apple of new days
In the hands of the girl laid the rotten apple
Selfishly and unwise both apples’ cores laid calmly in the girl’s hands
Memories of old could not compete with memories of new
Healthy versus rotten the fight was already over with
The girl did not remove her shield in time to see who had won
Still vague both apples remained
The fight was over; she could not give up the new apple
The old was wants of the past
The new is what was always wanted
She could not give up the care
The gravel fell and time should still
And in this moment fate and reality combined guided the girl onto a path of right
She found the calling of truth
A shield of long brown hair fell away into the wind as the girl stood
And walked away from her tree of apples onto her new favorite path
And clutched in her hand, never to leave was a red apple
The sun shined on the girl’s face as she engrossed herself into the river nearby
She did not fall, she did not hurt
She loves with all her heart
The apple given by fate remains ever close by
Day by day dreams and times become real
Memories stay separate and happiness is among them
