You and Me.

I want to smile
grand and loud
have butterflies fly round the moon
the city lights shining through the darkened sky
leaving only a glimmer of the butterflies' wings
and a faint trace of calmness settling in everyone's eyes.

Have a night of movies and laughter
lay my head on your stomach to hear your deep chuckles
ignore the crackling from the t.v.
and focus on how the skin on your hands
become hard at the fingertips
lightly drawing pictures and words on my skin.

Set a pace of this spring
have the sun kiss our darkening skin
have the grass tickle our ankles and feet
the roof laying under us
the stars looming above
and watch them fall just for us.

Smell your smell of something sweet but tough underneath
have your smile in my mind for me to dream of
the tough guy act thinning
your flaws and perfections sending fire to the moon
sending ice to the sun.

To lay by the river
and have the birds sing harmonies just for us
pick a dandelion and put it behind your ear
(only after a quick 'please' and pout from me)
to listen to the sound of moving water and swaying trees
and just sit side by side.

I want
You and Me.
