Isolation

Locked inside my own mind.
Face to face with sorrow and agony.
Like I'm frozen in time.
People around me live their lives.
Laughing, crying, hugging, kissing.
Yet here I sit in isolation.
Won't someone break me free of my prison?
A stone heavy heart beats in a hollow shell.
Soul was taken by pain.
People around me go by with time.
Playing, smiling, talking, living.
Yet here I sit in isolation.
Please get me out of this prison.
My voice echos off the walls.
Crying for help when no help comes.
The tears begin to drip from my closed eyes.
I dream I hear someone call my name.
And I open my eyes to her smiling face.
She waits for my soft lips.
She is my gateway from my prison.
Yet here I sit in isolation.
Waiting for her to find me and save me.
