Seven Deadly Sins - Gluttony

Food and drink is what all need
Yet the rich will take no heed of the poor
And feast upon mountains of gold
One simple goal: more.

No harm is there in enjoying oneself
But boundaries must be drawn
Take what you can get; give what you can spare
For this deed lies not in indulgence, but spite.

The kings mock the homeless
Unable to feed
And they will binge upon themselves fiercely without reason
And with or without need.

A disgusting sight more, one cannot imagine
To see the greed empassioned by food
Stuffing one's mouth, an explosion unneeded
Laughing in the face of Death.

Down below do these the Devil taunt; for he
Is just as much a creature existing to feed
Out of fear for the sin
Of this offshoot of greed.

Those who are gluttons and take life for themselves
Have a special punishment waiting deep in the rings of Hell.
Cruel foods are waiting; or the option to starve and in the fire bake
To feast forever upon toads, rats and snakes.

Take warning now; one cannot deny
That God's gift of food is great
But don't overspend it; give to the poor
Or one will be knocking on the most despised Sin's door.
