Where nothing is real,
Where we have forgotten
What it is to feel.

I live in a world
Where we ignore all our pain
And we smile as the sky
Leaks large tears of rain

I live in a world
Where we've lost ourselves
Where the knowledge we hold
Won't fill the shelves

I lie in a world
Where nobody dreams
Where things are never
As good as they seem.

I live in a world
Where we're all in denial
And we ignore all the bad
And we sit there and smile

I live in a world
Where we ignore every war
Because why should we care
If it's not at our door?

I live in a world
Where there is no escape
Where all that you have
Is all theirs to take.

I live in a world
Where everyone's blind
Where we see what we want
And we ignore the unkind

I live this world,
But I want to see
That's what makes them them
And what makes me me

I live in this world
And to me it's all real
I have remembered
What it is to feel

Who cares if it's there

It would be a lie
If I said I don't see
The pain in this world
As it swirls around me

To say I'm glad that I do.
There're times that I wish

I can't close them now.
