"Twist a Smile"

The pulse at your wrist is fading,
The floor flushing red with blood
From the tears you have cried in vain,
Drowning you in an endless flood.
Your skin has turned a deathly white.
Black hair spilling in contrast on the floor.
Watching, agonizing as time slips away,
Wishing somehow we had some more.
Your lips are pale, blue and frowning,
Hard-pressed to match the bathroom tile.
It's hard to imagine that even once in life
I could have seen them twist a smile.
Your eyes are drifting shut now,
Hiding emotions I searched so hard to find.
Dying our love in black, white and crimson
Waiting for our souls to intertwine.
My hands are stained with your love;
My cries of sin echoing on deaf ears.
A shadow and memory of how we were
Filtering through to enforce my fears.
Your body turns cold in shadowed arms,
And my unbeating heart stops screaming
Knowing now your suffering will fade
As you finally join me in endless dreaming.

Yes, yes. . I know, it's sad. It's meant to be. I don't even know why I wrote it. It just popped into my head.
