Daddy's Little girl

I’ve always hated princesses,
Cause fairy tales are dumb,
And “Daddy’s little girl”,
To that term, I’ve become numb.
You may think, in our time apart,
That you’ve taught me nothing,
However, every lesson is inscribed on my heart,
Sealed in place, by undying trust.
I’ve heard every single word,
From the very start.
And without your guidance,
I’d be lost.
I believe you’ve built a foundation,
For the strong woman, I was meant to be.
You are the strength I turn to,
When I’m feeling weak.
And in these past few years,
I have been gifted with the best title in the world,
I think it’s safe to say,
I’ve become daddy’s little girl.
