Just Another Rainy Day

Splish, splash, splish, splash
And again, it starts to rain

The fire crackles, I look outside
Memory stirs in my mind
Images there seem to be calling

Splish, splash, yet, the rain keeps falling

The sky is crying, it sheds it’s tears
The wind is howling, a lament to my ears
Falling, falling a tear drop shape
Hits the earth, bringing life in its wake

I press my cheek against the window
Coolness spreads, the feelings rise
I brush the glass with my fingers

Splish, splash, yet, the rain keeps falling

Sliding, gliding down it’s path
Forging new ways with it’s wrath
Each icy drop leaves a stream
A faint reminder of life's past dream

My breath frosts in the chilly air
Whispered secrets, spoken with care
They stick in my mind, causing despair

Splish, Splash, yet, the rain keeps falling

Drop after drop, down it cascades
It starts an ache that never fades
Sadness wells deep inside, forgotten and never seen
Like rain it coats all things in a glassy sheen

I take my last glance, my breath gone still
At the beauty of the glade shining with the tears
Of the sky, then with a sigh I get up to leave
Memories stirred let to be, sunlight appears

Splish, Splash, Splish, Splash
Just another rainy day

When i think of this poem i picture a young woman inside a cozy cottage/house, sitting in the lounge by a window. It's raining outside, and the woman staress and watches as the raindrops glide down the window and she remembers something tragic that happened.
